Dr. Pomerantseva received her B.S. degree in Materials Science from Moscow State University in 2000 and her doctoral degree in Solid-State Chemistry from Moscow State University in 2007.  From there, she joined the Department of Chemistry as a Postdoctoral Fellow for the University of Waterloo.  Afterwards, Dr. Pomerantseva became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Institute for Systems Research at the University of Maryland through 2013.

She then became an Assistant Professor for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University in 2013. Her research interests include Energy Generation, Storage, (Re)use and Recovery, Mechanics and Structures of Materials, and Nanotechnology. Her areas of study are Material Science and Engineering and Nanomaterials.
